On Friday, February 20, 2026, ReputationUs (RepUs) President Casey Boggs will lead a reputation and communications-focused workshop for more than 30 captains, sergeants, majors, and lieutenants from police departments and sheriff’s offices nationwide during the University of Louisville’s Southern Police Institute (SPI) 155th Administrative Officer’s Course (AOC).
Drawing on proven lessons from the corporate sector and applying them directly to modern law enforcement, the workshop, “Law Enforcement Reputation Management and Crisis Mitigation: Enhancing Police Department Reputations and Communications Before, During, and After a Crisis,’ is designed to help police leaders manage reputation with the same discipline and strategy used to manage operations and risk.
Participants will learn how to “play offense” by proactively shaping their agency’s reputation through intentional communication, internal alignment, and community engagement; building trust, credibility, and goodwill before challenges arise. Equally important, the workshop prepares leaders to “play defense” by establishing the communications infrastructure, decision-making processes, and leadership readiness needed to respond quickly, clearly, and confidently when a crisis occurs.
By the end of the session, law enforcement leaders will better understand how a strong, well-managed reputation can reduce risk, support operational effectiveness, and protect public trust; both in routine operations and under intense public scrutiny.
Casey Boggs is a global communications leader specializing in reputation management, internal communications, crisis mitigation, cyber incident response, public relations, and spokesperson training. ReputationUs (RepUs) is a national corporate reputation management and crisis response firm that works extensively with public-service organizations, including police departments and sheriff’s offices across the country.
